Adventurist world travel and fine Australian art joined forces on the night of Thursday 9th December to produce an evening of elegance, culture, and intrigue as Lukas Christoph Baumann (who you may remember as the man who drove his Volvo from his homeland of Switzerland to the 2009 Melbourne Cup) made a presentation to a select crowd of guests at the studio and showroom of the renown Sydney based bronze sculptress Linda Klarfeld. The Swiss Consulate General, Markus Meli was the honourable emcee as Lukas Christoph Baumann was the star attraction (also sharing the spotlight with the incredible bronze sculptures on display!)
Over the years, Klarfeld Bronzes has been commissioned by some of Australia’s most well-known business identities. The guests in attendance drank fine wines and boutique beers, and nibbled at an abundance of gourmet European-style h’orderves while also enjoying the VIP gift bags that were packed with many goodies such as products from Nivea (for the ladies) and men’s grooming products from Australian brand Beauty Mate.
Without sounding cheesey, I must say my special Thankyous to some of our sponsors, partners and helpers. From my end, Thanks to Lara Shannon of Eco Chic and Axelle at 5senses Sydney. Thanks to Gareth from Continental who flew up from head office in Melbourne to be with us. Also thanks to my friends and associates on ASW who came along. : )
Of course, it would not be a celebration without there being a splash of colour in amongst the crowd. Socialite royalty such as Melinda McMahon (daughter of former Prime Minister Sir William McMahon and sister to spunky actor Julian McMahon) and Angela Bell-McSweeney swanned around with their entourage in sheer elegance, while the younger generation of social butterflies Elisa Besnier, Flavia Fayet, Rebecca Park, and Francesca Champagne all followed in step.
My own Melbourne based PR and event organising consultancy SRS Productions, managed several key aspects of this joint publicity campaign for LCB Direct and Klarfeld Bronzes. From an event organiser’s perspective, this publicity campaign was a huge success.
There were special guests and clients flown in to Sydney from France, Spain, China and Switzerland to attend this special night.
The guests from all generations young & old clearly had an exquisite time in an atmosphere of fine art, storytelling, and inspiration.
